Insurance
Many insurance companies will cover Nutrition Counseling Services. If you wish to use insurance, please contact your provider prior to making an appointment to confirm coverage of nutrition services.
In-Network
I am an in network provider for Aetna and United Healthcare. If you are in California, you will need a Primary Care Provider (PCP) referral for receiving services.

If you wish to claim insurance benefits for both in and out of network, you will need to contact your insurance company to confirm what is covered. I recommend asking the following questions:

1. Are visits to an out-of-network Registered Dietitian Nutritionist reimbursable? Ask specifically about the procedure codes 97802 and 97803.
2. Ask if preventative visits are covered under code Z71.3.
3. Do you have to meet a deductible before insurance will provide reimbursement?
4. Is a referral from your Primary Care Provider (PCP) required?
Out Of Network
For all other insurance companies, I am an out of network provider. This means that you will initially pay out of pocket and file the claim for reimbursement yourself. I will provide you with a "superbill" that you can use to claim your benefits. Depending on your insurance company this may be between 50-80% reimbursement.
